Corona Cleaning Checklist

Extensive cleaning has become a part of our lives more than ever before. We are cleaning every high touch surface and area out there to stop the spread of germs. But do you follow a specific process or checklist while you do this? Follow our corona cleaning checklist to make sure you don’t miss a spot.

1. Clean, Sanitize, Disinfect

There’s this misconception that these three terms mean the same thing. That’s not the case. Let’s break down what each does!

Cleaning: When you clean, you’re washing off dirt and grime from surfaces.

Sanitizing: When you sanitize, you’re decreasing the number of germs but they don’t all disappear.

Disinfecting: When you disinfect, you’re killing the bacteria and viruses that could be lingering on your surfaces.

Make sure you’re taking the right precautions and not confusing yourself with the wrong process!

2. Establish Your High-Touch Surfaces

Your high-touch surface can vary from other people’s. Determining what those are and cleaning them regularly is vital for stopping the spread of germs. Whether you’re staying home, driving, or working in an office, there are common high-touch surfaces to account for daily. Those include…

  • Phones
  • Doorknobs
  • Doors
  • Laptops/keyboards
  • Writing utensils
  • Kitchen counters
  • Fridges
  • Sinks
  • Steering wheels

These are just a few of the many surfaces you should be cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting constantly.

3. Dust and Vacuum

Always dust before you vacuum. When you remove dust from surfaces, the dust tends to fall on the ground and settle. Vacuuming makes for a quick clean up and your carpet will be thanking you.

4. Purify Your Air

Did you know the air inside your home can actually contain more pollutants than outside! Gases coming from stoves, sharing air with others in close quarters, and more are reasons this can happen. Things like air fresheners will not clean your air! Here are a few ways to help release some of these pollutants from your home…

  • Open windows
  • Invest in some houseplants
  • Use essential oil diffusers
  • Use an air purifier
  • Keep a Himalayan salt lamp around

Taking charge of your cleaning habits especially with the COVID-19 virus will help you and the people around stay safe. Keep this cleaning checklist in mind next time you decide to clean! If you need help with commercial cleaning in your area, contact CBM!
